 Our history: Moalia was born in 1994 in the province of Murcia, Spain. Created by Pierre and Jeff Bodin, the company incorporated under Spanish law exports fresh products, but also provides import / export of tuna G&G and loins from the Sultanate of Oman, to France. An activity that the founder knows well, he was the first, starting in 1989 as part of another structure, to import by air cargo on the french territory, specifically to the international market of Rungis, fresh yellowfin tuna. Today: Importer and distributor of a specialized range of fresh fish Moalia spends most of its activity to the distribution of yellowfin tuna, in all its forms; whole loin and H&G (H&G tuna, headless and without tails, is a product for Sushi and Sashimi preparation) as well as swordfish whole and vaccum packed in loins. Specialized in fresh, Moalia buys from small fisheries in the Indian Ocean (Maldives, Sri Lanka, Oman), as well as from Spain and the Azores. ++ Moalia has chosen to import only Yellowfin tuna and Albacore Tuna by targeting products caught by small fishing boats, that do not endanger the future of the species (according to WWF, the Thunnus Albacares is not an endangered fish).
++ Since the creation of Moalia back in 1994, we have chosen to not sell Bluefin Tuna. It was a commercial choice then which has become a sustainability declaration since the year 2000.
